The Zoom R8 Recorder Interface combines an 8-track recorder, audio interface, DAW control surface and sampler all-in-one.

The Zoom R8's 8-track recorder allows you to record without the need for a computer, software or any other creative roadblocks. Using the R8 you can record and mix a demo recording easily both in your studio and on the road thanks to its ability to run from batteries. The 8-track recorder can capture 2 simultaneous recordings with 8-track playback at 24-bit/48kHz. The recorder even has a built-in stereo microphone for recording rough sketches of songs as they come to mind so you don't forget them.

When connected to a computer via USB the Zoom R8 can be used as a powerful audio interface with 2-in/2-out up to 24-bit/96kHz high definition audio. Another function when connected to a computer is to use the recorders Faders as a control surface to adjust the balance of your mix and control transport functions of major DAW's such as Cubase, Logic, and Sonar.
